It’s like typing on that glass screen, but you still have the whole screen visible! Zagg Messenger Folio 2 Tablet Keyboard & Case, Laptop-Style Keys, Built-in Stand for 10.9-inch 10th GEN iPad, Black. This Zagg unit comes closest I’ve found to the size and layout of the built-in virtual keyboard of the iPad. If you want one that is also the size of the screen, you’re going to have to suffer with keys that are a bit smaller than standard free-standing keyboards. IN the world of Bluetooth keyboards, just about any of them will pair to your iPad. Best Buy has honest and unbiased customer reviews for ZAGG - Messenger Folio 2 Keyboard & Case for Apple iPad 10.2' (7th, 8th, 9th Gen) and iPad Air 10. ![]() Now, there’s a section in the QuickStart guide to explain the power indicator LED colors. James also mentioned there was no indication of what the blinking lights meant when you press the fn and Battery keys together. Add a Bluetooth mouse (I’m quite partial to the Logi Pebble i345), and it’s a great editing kit in a pretty small form factor. It does increase the size and weight of your iPad, but if you need something that’s small and light and has more connectivity options than a laptop, your cellular iPad and this may offer quite a compelling option. For nearly 100 less, heres a keyboard cas. It’s very sturdy in the lap when you’re typing away from a table (since it doesn’t have a kickstand), and you can move it easily from place to place with one hand. Apples official iPad Pro keyboard case is a perfect blend of portability and function, but boy is it expensive. Specifically, the sides line up much better to prevent accidental power on, and the single lower attachment point makes it very easy to remove the iPad from the Folio if you don’t need the keyboard. ![]() James Garriss reviewed the first edition of this case back in April, and mentioned some things he would like to see improved. With this second version, I think Zagg has shown they are listening. It also has high-end features like special function keys, space-efficient design, and polished. The modifier keys are kinda narrow, but that is a nice trace off for a longer space bar, I guess The Messenger Folio 2 has laptop-style keys and a durable case.Pencil loop is really tight and difficult to remove pencil from.ZAGG - Messenger Folio 2 Keyboard & Case for Apple iPad 10.2' (7th, 8th, 9th Gen) and iPad Air 10.5' (3rd Gen) - Charcoal. ZAGG - Pro Keys Wireless Keyboard & Detachable Case for Apple iPad 10.9' 10th Gen (2022) - Black. Keyboard is a bit “bendy” when holding it by a corner Browse the top-ranked list of ZAGG iPad keyboards below along with associated reviews and opinions.Screen is held firmly, yet can be removed easily.Targus' Versavu Keyboard Case felt much more sturdy by comparison. That works nicely for keyboard transformation, but it's lousy for flipping open the folio cover and reading. Plus, one side of the iPad 2 pops out from the plastic bracket by design. Though it becomes more lightweight, its cumbersome, thick design is terrible in comparison to dedicated folio cases. The folio can also work with the keyboard removed. It's a clever bonus to the Zaggfolio's design, and we might even say after a day or so of use that we perhaps prefer the detached Pad/keyboard feel to the whole folio addition. The plastic keyboard can be removed from the folio case and used on its own intriguingly, an iPad 2 will still stand upright in the removed keyboard. Padded bumpers on the keyboard protect against content with the iPad's glass screen when folded up, but we still wouldn't trust this type of overall case compared with a true folio alternative. The Zaggfolio's thickness is similar to a thin-and-light laptop, and a plastic front snap keeps the case closed for the most part. ![]() An embedded magnet awakens an iPad 2 for instant-on use, but we found this less necessary on a keyboard case that probably requires Bluetooth management between uses anyway. The hard case slots an iPad 2 into its top half and bends backward so the iPad 2 remains perfectly slotted in while typing, but flipped into a "normal" case mode the Zaggfolio feels bulky and floppy, and not at all ideal for reading. The outside is sheathed in a "carbon fiber textured" material that feels like soft patterned nylon. ![]() Though the keyboard's a hit, we're a little less bullish about the folio case part. It's still some of the best keyboard performance we've seen outside of a full-size standalone keyboard, and we were able to write this whole review on it comfortably. We did fumble a little because of the closely spaced keys, and the key responsiveness felt a step behind the more classic-style keys on the Zagg case. ![]()
